Edgar’s Bakehouse Reviews

Edgar’s Bakehouse is located at the corner of Washington Road and Fury’s Ferry Road just to the right of Goodwill. It’s actually connected to Goodwill. Today I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a chocolate chocolate chip cookie with sea salt and white chocolate. The environment is quiet and kept clean. They offer many fresh baked goodies. I highly recommend you try them.

A cozy yet spacious spot to grab excellent pastries and coffee. I always get a cappuccino and the ham and Swiss croissant is one of the best I’ve had. Their desserts are amazing as well. One of Augusta’s hidden gems!

Wow! The best French/European bakery in the CSRA. Normally I would drive to Atlanta for these items. My favorite bakery is in Hendersonville NC, but due to COVID they have limited hours.

Accidentally found this place on Google Map. Everything we bought were excellent. Can’t wait to return & try the savory baked goods & sandwiches.

Updated – 2nd stop this week. More photos. We will try the sandwiches next time.

Clean open space…baked goods looked delicious. I ordered a mushroom bruffin & a roast beef sandwich & two focaccia & baguette to go… my Chai tea was delicious & I wished for more filling (which tasted amazing) in my bruffin. The roast beef sandwich I got hot & it tasted delicious. I’m overall happy with the food & service was great.

Went to Edgar’s Bakehouse the other day with a friend and was NOT disappointed!! The desserts were beautiful and delicious Staff was friendly and knowledgeable!! Space was clean! They even have a coffee ice cream with brownie chunks to die for!! Though might want to come early for their more popular desserts like the twice baked tirimasu, sticky buns, and ham/cheese croissants. So worth it!!!

Took over half an hour for a single cold sandwich. I asked when it would be coming out after 20 minutes of waiting. They told me they forgot about it and didn’t know how to make it so I had to wait for the trainer to show up. Not busy, was the only one waiting. They also left an ingredient off the sandwich and no apologies about the wait. Expected better service from this brand.

Great coffee. Was thrilled that they had a Gluten Free pastry! My friends said the chocolate crossaints were amazing.

Sigh.. I really wanted this to be great! It looked great! The lady working was soooo helpful and the presentation was delectable!! I was drooling by the time I got my box of goodies. I had some everything bread and another bacon cheddar thing. Both were not good. Was so disappointed and I couldn’t believe how something that looked so good could be so, well, not good. I took a couple of bites of both and I threw the rest out. I would be willing to try again and choose different items. I would be happy to update the review if the food experience is any better. I do love the idea of the bakery and I encourage them to stick around!! I certainly look forward to coming back and hopefully ordering something amazing!

Service was great.
Dessert: Apple Maple Tart ($4.50) & Sweet Potato Eclair ($3.50)
The tart crust tasted stale like it’s been premade/manufactured made. The eclair had a lot of spice so I couldn’t taste much of the natural flavor of sweet potatoes. Plus there’s a lot marshmallow fluff on top.
Don’t know why there so much corn syrup at the bottom of both the tart and the eclair. Both dessert are already sweet enough and really doesn’t need so much syrup just for the dessert to stay in/on it’s container.
Overall, it’s nice that there’s so much unique sweets. The store is like a Starbuck but for dessert. They do have coffee and lunch option like sandwiches. I wish the dessert had less corn syrup.

Edgar’s Bakehouse is the perfect place to order a specialty coffee and lounge in their comfy chairs and enjoy one of Chef Michael’s amazing french pastries that are made in house daily. They are not only gorgeous to look at they are addictive. Be careful, if you start going here you’ll probably keep going.
