Duck Donuts Reviews

Iris Pagan

I saw an ad on my insta feed for this donut shop (I clearly look at a lot of food posts- don’t judge me). Decided to stop by early in the morning because I figured earlier donuts = fresher donuts BUT that’s not the case with duck donuts bc all their donuts are made to order! (If you’re in a rush, this isn’t the place for you).

It was my first time ordering and the staff wasn’t the best in terms of making the ordering process easier. She didn’t explain the donuts were made to order so I just randomly selected 6 donuts from the menu. I think they were PB&J, Sunrise (Lemon Raspberry), Blueberry Lemonade, the boardwalk, cookies and cream & raspberry fluff.

My first impressions: uhh this looks like a mess…but also wow warm donuts? This is revolutionary!! (Great in the winter, maybe not so great in the summer?) I had a bite of each donut and my favorite was the boardwalk (it was giving fried Oreo vibes) and my least favorite was the pb&j. This shop isn’t for the traditional donut lover. They don’t have filled donuts and you should probably eat it right away because the consistency may change once its no longer warm. Also the donuts are kind of cakey, nothing like Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme.

The BEC sandwich was OK. The donut was really soft and kind of fell apart. (Plus kinda small). Anyways will be coming back.

The donuts are very good at this location. You can tell they are fresh from the oven. The cinnamon sugar is not too heavy and the french toast donuts are out of this world! Very happy with my first trip here. Each donut comes out to about $2 or so…prices are in line with other donut shops.

These donuts are delicious! They arrived home warm and fresh. My kids and I loved seeing them being made. Tons of fun and so so good! Lucky for us we were served right away when we got there – a weekday after school, so service was quick and amazing. Very pleased…and we’re really picky lol!

Been wanting to try this place for awhile. Sadly, during peach season, they were out of peaches as options. Love combo option of 2 donuts and a coffee. Service was a bit slow, many waiting inside for their orders which were all custom made to order on warm cake donuts. Fun to watch, but not a fan of cake donuts…has an overly moist/undercooked texture for me.

Freshly made donuts made to order. They’re soft, warm, and delicious! I enjoy the different flavors especially the peanut butter and maple bacon donuts.

Watching them make and glaze the donuts is something that I can do all day. There are so many combination of flavors you can choose. Eat them while they’re still warm!

Heard great things about their donuts unfortunately I couldn’t get past the stains all over the glass, the messy dipping station, counter tops and the two girls working the machine area with no gloves and push the fingers through their hair. Yes, they had hats on but that didn’t stop them. I’m big on cleanliness when it comes to food places especially areas seen by customers! What does it take to wipe down the glass and dipping area? The glass had old dried up frosting on it ! No asked if we needed help! As the young man took an order at the register so we left! Totally list the taste for a delicious donut!

I’ll be honest I’m not really a fan but this place goes as far as customization to all your donuts. For 20 bucks you can get a dozen a little crazy but to be honest you get what you paid for it honestly seems worth it. While this may not be my place not really fulfilling for me but definitely try here when you get a chance.

THESE DONUTS ARE GREAT! They have so many options glazes and topping for the amazingly soft, fresh cake donut. If you can’t make up your mind they have several selections that will make it easy to pick a variety to suit your tastes. Be patient, this place gets busy. Just remember that each donut is dipped and topped once your order is placed. It’s worth the wait!!!

Greasy cake donuts fried to order. Not sure why this place is still open. Staff was very friendly though. 20 stars for service and negative 18 stars for food quality equals my 2 star review.

Northern NJ really needs a mom and pop donut joint. Dunkin and Krispy Kreme are the only other choices around here.
