Tried these a few times and I though they were good but not raving about them. Never knew they should be hot or warm, as mine were always cold.

Bummed that they displayed all of the donuts and when we went to order them, we were told everything on the top row were not available. Then why not remove them from the display case?

The donuts themselves are great as they are not as sweet as a regular donut.

Chocolate chocolate chip is my favorite. Actually, anything with chocolate is my favorite, as you can see from my photo posted with the review.

At least give them a try.

8/15/2022 = 4 Star = my kids love it , i wish a litttle warm dough hehhee , we still enjoyed it , we still coming back , if you don’t know the trick how to eat it can be messy, good thing they give us enough napkin ,

Fantastically crafted donuts. This is definitely not your normal glazed donut you can get anywhere. Although they run a little more expensive than those other guys, your first bite will let you it was worth it.

I recommend anything that has cereal on it!

They make these fresh for you so you will need to wait, but believe me, it really is worth the money and wait for a treat!

This is my second visit to Dot & Dough, but my first at this location. I ordered the Taiwanese Brown Sugar filled, the Oreo filled, the Homer Chocolate, and the Oreo Mochi donut. First of all, their mochi donuts are the best; so delicious! I enjoyed the Taiwanese Brown Sugar filling; it was subtle, flavor-wise, and just overall a nice filling. The Oreo filled and Homer Chocolate had the same filling, which was a really nice chocolate filling. The Oreo mochi donut was amazing, but the dough from regular filled donuts was also really good. I love that they’re always fresh and warm, although I did drive to the beach to enjoy them there, so they weren’t as warm, but still delicious.

The cashier was super sweet as well. I had a gift card that she didn’t know how to apply, but no biggie! I’ll def be back when I’m in the area 🙂

Didn’t order because donut selection was really limited. Cashier said it least a 15 minutes wait for Malasadas. So, we left with nothing.

Don’t stop, but go to Dot & Dough

Despite having a mochi donut shop nearby, I’ve never partaken of the new food fad. Probably because the shop only sells them by the 1/2 dozen/dozen, my daily travels brought me to Rodeo 39 on a hot summer day, the opportunity to avail myself of mochi donuts presenting itself. Noticing mochi donuts are only available after 1pm at Dot & Dough, I had a scrumptious lunch of banh xeo at Banh Xeo Boys, before coming back at the designated time.

Debating whether or not to go 1 mochi & 1 filled donut, I decided upon 2 mochi donuts. Now the hard part – which to get?

After careful deliberation, I went with the Homer Chocolate & Oreo Chocolate mochi donuts-

Homer Chocolate mochi donut-
I was pleasantly surprised how light & pillowy mochi donuts are. With a bit of a chewy texture, the mochi donut was airy like a cloud. The chocolate glaze & sprinkles added sweetness, yet not cloyingly so.

Oreo Chocolate mochi donut-
My favorite of the two, the Oreo Chocolate was delightfully crumbly. Not as sweet as the Homer, which is why I preferred this one. Plus, it’s a little less messy.

Service was good. The person working the counter took my order, and went to the back, freshly making them. Because of being made fresh to order, the wait time can be significant during busy hours. Ordering ahead is best, if you happen not to luck out & catch them w/o customers, like I did. Also, only contactless payment via card is accepted. No cash! Dot & Dough is located on the left side of Rodeo 39. Parking can be a nightmare at times, with Rodeo 39 sharing parking spaces with both Raising Cane’s AND In & Out! Talk about parking spot envy!

My first foray into mochi donut madness, and I love them! I’m not a donut guy, either. There was just something about the chewy bite & fluffy texture. Dot & Dough makes a quality product, made fresh, which comes with both positives & negatives. Order ahead to avoid wait times, but regardless of a long or short wait, it’ll be worth it when you sink your teeth onto these sweet delights.

I’ve had mochi donuts elsewhere before but was not a fan till I gave Dot & Dough a try. Highly recommend! Tried their premium stuffed and regular donuts. Flavors: taro stuffed, homer chocolate mochi, crispy chocolate cereal mochi, strawberry pocky mochi, milk & Cereal mochi, Oreo chocolate mochi, matcha white chocolate. Great texture and flavors. Good for gifting!

Michael Riechmann

Texture lacking and the icing is the only source of flavor with the donuts base being standard. Staff was friendly, packaging was cute, but the mochi leaves much to desire.

Wanted to try this place, but I’m sorry, aside from the matcha mochi donut, everything else was not good (earl grey, strawberry, ube, fruity pebbles etc.). They were too sweet and like another reviewer’s experience, came out cold. The price was also quite high and comparable to Bay Area prices?
