I always look for Mexican bakeries when traveling and found this gem in St. Paul Minnesota. Picked out a few things to try. The yellow cake was a light and airy cake with a hint of lemon it was quite delightful. Everything pictured was $8.50. The service was fabulous. I was super happy they opened early enough for us to swing by on our way out.

Everything I’ve had has been amazing, in particular the chocolate tres leches cake, which I’ve had several times now.
Pro tip: I looked everywhere for those little tissue papers and bags to put the goods in, but there are none. Grab a bin and metal tong from the checkout counter to collect the heavenly pastries from their cabinets. I’m probably just ignorant, but I had no idea what to do the first time I went. Hope this helps someone else avoid my mistake!

Legit Mexican bakery with a variety of baked goods. You grab a bin, a set of tongs, and pick out what you want. I tried the concha and a churro, but I wanted to try so much more. The concha was soft and it was the perfect level of sweetness. It wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but I was still happy that I tried it. The churro was okay, but I bet they are amazing fresh. I will definitely have to come in at open in the morning and try some new items. The prices were very reasonable too.
Bonus Review: After leaving Don Panchos, I saw that there was an elote stand going on next door. I believe the name of it was El Zorros. This was super tasty too!

I like this place and it’s open later than most bakeries, smack dab in the square of local restaurants like Boca Chica and El Mercado, it’s an excellent place. I like to get some of the pastries I’m familiar with like the crescents with custard and the big pan buns. I’ll try something new from time to time but I know there tres leche cake with milk is always good.

I always order cakes from here when my kids have birthdays and they always do a great job. 3 leches with a strawberry fill is our favorite!!

Love Love Love!!!!! The treats are amazing!! My favorite if he cinnamon spiral pastry and the Cinnamon sugar bun! Some pastries are super flaky and a little on the drier side but still delicious!! Service was very nice and the woman was so friendly! You go in, grab a bin and tongs and there’s a bell if you need any help! Recommend!!

Best Tres Leche. Simple, very modest building but best bakery hard working local people. Go get some you won’t be sorry. I speak some Spanish so that helped, but don’t be shy bring what you want to the counter it is very reasonably priced and delicious.

Definitely a hidden gem. There are so many options it’s hard to decide.

Fantastic service! We picked up some churros and bakery items to share with friends and we will be back. Everything was so good here. We loved the conchas, chocolate filled croissants and really everything we tried. Kids loved the donuts. We were pleasantly surprised to see they have regular churros and caramel filled. Pop them in the microwave for just a little bit to warm them up for a great treat. The employee (didn’t catch his name) was so friendly and knowledgeable.
