Cherbourg Bakery Reviews

This is such a beautiful bakery. The staff is very nice. There is a wide variety of baked goods and coffee drinks. I had the Iced Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk($4.75) and an Assortment of Pastries($29). Everything was DELICIOUS, especially the Latte. I will definitely be back.

So yummy and gluten free 10/10 wish they would expand to other locations!!! I love their coffee donuts and carrot cake muffins and their s’mores bars- those are a seriously amazing treat. If they wanted to expand to the east side, I’d even work there. Amazing stuff. Seen a lot of reviews about the price- these are 100% homemade gluten free baked goods of gormet quality, I think the price is justified.

We made an overnight stop in Columbus and stopped here for treats before leaving town. The beverages we ordered were great (iced blueberry latte and a pour-over coffee), and we went hog-wild trying their baked goods! Everything we ate was good, but our very favorites in order of increasing awesomeness were the S’more bar (great flavor and combination of textures – very creamy in the center), Apple Pie Bar (very moist and great cinnamon apple flavor), Black Tie No Frosting Cupcake (rich, moist, decadent deep chocolate with pockets of cream cheese filling), and the Espresso Brownie (crisp exterior, gooey center, and very satisfying deep chocolate flavor – yum, yum, yum!) So glad we stopped and would definitely visit again.

We can’t recommend Cherbourg Bakery enough! We just got married in October and had a variety of Cherbourg desserts for our wedding instead of a cake – donuts, bars, and cupcakes. I have celiac disease, so it was important for us to use a bakery that was completely gluten free. Our guests raved about the s’mores bars and donuts, and many of them took dessert to-go. They even had options for our family and friends that are vegan and have nut allergies, so there was something for everyone.
I honestly can not say enough about how impressed we were with the whole experience!

Truly one of the best places I’ve been too. I’m gluten free and rarely get to eat yummy treats. This places makes all my bakery dreams come true. Even if you’re not gluten free you will LOVE this place. Plus the staff is truly awesome!! Well done Cherbourg, well done .

Gluten-free heaven! It was really nice going into a bakery and being able to eat everything with my wheat allergy. Staff was friendly, pastries were delicious. I had a cinnamon sugar donut and strevie (egg casserole?). The egg casserole was my favorite! Coffee was good but pretty basic.

I wish I could give this place more stars because the treats look good. But I can’t:

1) last time I was in here, an employee was standing on the counter with her dirty green chucks. Directly on the counter to reach something. Got down, didn’t clean the counter. Other employee with long brown hair started using the counter to place items there. Right where the dirty sneakers were!!! Disgusting.

2) The employees regularly have to leave to go get restocks from the location down the street. Do they wash their hands when they come back? NO. Touching door handles and the iPad and everything else and never washing their hands! Yet again, disgusting.

3) I tried to give this place another chance today, and I waited for 10 minutes without even being acknowledged with a hello. Multiple employees made eye contact and didn’t greet me. It was only 9am and all the food left was sad and burnt looking. AGAIN, leaving to go get more food and NOT WASHING HANDS!!!! I left without ordering because no one would speak to me.

I don’t care how good the food is; if the customer service is rude and the bakery is dirty, it’s not good.

Loved Cherbourg Bakery. We traveled from Denver, CO to visit family and they took us to this bakery. My 14 year old son has been recently diagnosed with Celiac disease and he tried 6 different things (egg strata, strawberry scone, strawberry donut, lemon bar, lemon cake, s’mores bar) and each one was more mouth watering than the last. Delicious regardless if you need to keep gluten free.

All pastries were made well and weren’t overpowering. The jalapeño egg bites were very good, not too strong of any flavor but a good bite to eat. The lavender cakes(?) had a wonderful light texture and no overwhelming floral taste. Additionally, the blueberry muffin was packed with blueberrys and was delicious. The workers where friendly and the shop was quant and clean.

Regardless of when I’ve visited, I have had to wait more than 10 min. as there was only one person to take orders (baked goods and coffee) and manage the register. I know staff shortages are widespread, so I understand why multiple staff during the morning shift may not be feasible. My rating is a reflection of the fact that I have yet to see a staff member wash their hands after receiving a package, returning to the café from the satellite location a couple of doors down, or bussing tables. With each order, the staff assemble a go-to box and place liner paper in the box (which they place by putting their palm on the paper). Now this is cool if ordering a muffin, but most baked goods are placed directly on this paper. For this reason, I only order the blueberry muffin. Suggestions: assemble boxes in advance and wash hands before returning to coffee or baked goods counter. Thank you for the GF options.
