Bougie’s Donuts & Coffee Reviews

Really cute donut shop on the south west side, Sunset Valley. Good selection of coffee, to go drinks, and space to sit. The donuts were great! Small selection, there is only 1 medium stuffed case but all absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

Cake donuts exactly how they should be – sugary icing on just mildly sweet dough. The carrot cake donuts were awesome – perfect cream cheese icing. My daughter surprisingly liked the gluten free cinnamon donut best of all. Friendly staff and excellent experience!

Delicious donuts and friendly staff. You can tell that the donuts are made with good ingredients and with lots of love. My fave spot in Austin, hands down! Sometimes they have a half dozen Day Old Donut box for $5. So worth it. The donuts are definitely just as delicious a day later.

Discovered this place after it reopened post pandemic. Their butterbeer latte is deliciously sweet and foamy. And my fav of their doughnuts are the original glaze, donut holes, chocolate iced and cinnabon. Would recomend catching them early morning though – the fresher the better. Unfortunately the doughnuts dont have a great shelf life and get stale/hard pretty quick. The apple fritter also is an interesting texture but the sticky topping/filling is not nearly as yummy or tart as I would have liked or expected. Lastly, sad but honest truth – I did see a pretty big roach under our seat. Good thing I’m not squeamish!

Great donuts. Love the fancy flavor combos (like blueberry lemon) and also the classics (chocolate with sprinkles). Prepare for them being very sweet. Coffee used to be amazing, but I think they lost their barista. Beans are good but there is little distinction between say a cappuccino and a flat white, and both have too much milk (more like a latte). Shame. Would give them five stars if they could figure that out again. They’d benefit from sending someone who is passionate about mastering coffee making on a course and then having them create a good training manual/program for the other team members. Understand it must be hard to retain people after the pandemic.

Amazing! Super impressed with the gluten free donuts. The blueberry was my fave. Also got a decaf oat milk latte that was on point. Quiet space with free wifi and a few tables.

We have been to Bougie’s several times now and each and every time the glaze yeast donut and kolaches are absolutely outstanding. Definitely their best items on the menu. The cake donuts are definitely better than most we’ve had (not dry and enough icing) but not as good as their regular donuts. Their coffee is average. They usually have a donut of the month which is fun!

The main reason for 4 stars is it is pricey. For 6 donuts, 4 kolaches, and 1 black coffee it’s $28. They’re very good so it’s worth it but just know it’s a treat. Additionally, it is very rare that they are nice unfortunately. Of the 4-5 times we’ve gone they’re not very nice but again their donuts are great so definitely give them a try.

These donuts are so good… and the fritters are even better!! If you’re someone who likes donuts, but constantly avoids donut shops because they feel a bit rundown, then this is your sign to go to Bougie’s. This is a cute and clean donut shop with delicious donuts!

Their cake donuts with sprinkles are pretty good. I liked the sprinkles/icing but the cake was a little mushy. Not amazing but not terrible. However the prices are pretty bad. $3 per donut is ridiculous. I’ve found other donut shops around town (KC donuts) to be better and only 1/3 of the cost. I don’t see a reason to come back.

Bougie’s delivered to my complex recently, so I tried the half dozen assortment of donuts and a cold brew. All of the donuts were good, but I probably enjoyed the cinnamon sugar donut the most. Generally I like the less sweet (boring) donut types like a plain cake donut, so the glazes get to be a bit much for me. The donuts were delivered fresh and the staff was quick and friendly. The cold brew was a concentrate (Weather Hands brand) which I blended with almond milk and it was really good.
