What can I say but I love a good pastry and the owners at The Blackhole Bakery are definitely doing something right! Come early for the best selection especially on the weekends as they tend to sell out before noon. I got here after 10 am on a Thursday and although the selection was limited I found plenty of unique treats to satisfy my curiosity and appetite. By the time I completed my order there was a short line forming. My barista recommended the tea cake and it was excellent. I also brought home the ham and cheese croissant and a cookie for lunch The midtown location is convenient for me and easy to find right on Troost , although parking is limited. The staff was friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely return, maybe this weekend if I can get the princess up early!

My favorite KC bakery hands down. Get there early because everything sells out quickly! Everyone working there is so nice, upbeat and funny. There’s some cool space memorabilia around the shop too(gives ya something to look at with the long Saturday morning waits!)

This place was awesome from the and the sci-fi space theme decor, to the wide range of goodies to the friendly and helpful staff. Now beyond all of that their pastries were some of the best I ever had. If you go there definitely try the mochi they are so good and the icing on the sugar plum mochi was like a tastebud explosion of happiness.
I also loved that they required people to wear mask before entering and even provided masks so there was no excuse not to wear one.
I went there on Christmas Eve and there was a line out of the door but they kept the line moving at a nice clip so you weren’t out in the cold for long. If you are near the bakery stop in and try something tasty you won’t regret it.

Everything was excellent! The cherry almond puff was particularly delicious – so balanced. We also tried the birthday cake croissant, sticky bun, cinnamon roll, and chocolate mocha donuts. Would highly recommend!

The the chocolate and blueberry croissants were amazing. I really liked the pomegranate Mochi donut and I am planning one getting the amazing looking bagels next time.

Really liked their prices and croissants. I mainly recommend their ham & cheese, chocolate, and birthday cake croissants! I thought their non-chocolate mochi donuts could be stronger flavor-wise, because I couldn’t really taste the taro and lemon chamomile. About 30 mins drive for me, so unlikely to visit weekly, but a monthly trip is worth it!

Absolutely amazing. I’ve been working in the area but haven’t had the time to stop in. But today I did. They did not disappoint. I had the Brioche cinnamon rolls with house coffee! OUTSTANDING!

The pastries and donuts are amazing but unfortunately we waited in line for 40 mins to get them. The lines could be much more efficient. Line was out the door and only one person taking orders. There was other staff there that could’ve helped take orders and box, but they didn’t. We love the pastries but not feasible to wait 40 mins. 5 star for the food, 3 stars for efficiency and service.

They make some of the best Croissant I have ever had. They are light and flake and buttery deliciousness. We have had other things but I love the Croissants. Two things, 1. Preorder particularly on Saturday and you cut the line that is usually down the street. 2. Could you have a way to preorder through the website.
